Song of the Day

Yim Yames/Jim James
and his tribute to
George Harrison

My Sweet Lord

My sweet lord
Hm, my lord
Hm, my lord

I really want to see you
Really want to be with you
Really want to see you lord
But it takes so long, my lord

My sweet lord
Hm, my lord
Hm, my lord

I really want to know you
Really want to go with you
Really want to show you lord
That it won't take long, my lord (hallelujah)

My sweet lord (hallelujah)
Hm, my lord (hallelujah)
My sweet lord (hallelujah)

I really want to see you
Really want to see you
Really want to see you, lord
Really want to see you, lord
But it takes so long, my lord (hallelujah)

My sweet lord (hallelujah)
Hm, my lord (hallelujah)
My, my, my lord (hallelujah)

I really want to know you (hallelujah)
Really want to go with you (hallelujah)
Really want to show you lord (aaah)
That it won't take long, my lord (hallelujah)

Hmm (hallelujah)
My sweet lord (hallelujah)
My, my, lord (hallelujah)

Hm, my lord (hare krishna)
My, my, my lord (hare krishna)
Oh hm, my sweet lord (krishna, krishna)
Oh-uuh-uh (hare hare)

Now, I really want to see you (hare rama)
Really want to be with you (hare rama)
Really want to see you lord (aaah)
But it takes so long, my lord (hallelujah)

Hm, my lord (hallelujah)
My, my, my lord (hare krishna)
My sweet lord (hare krishna)
My sweet lord (krishna krishna)
My lord (hare hare)
Hm, hm (Gurur Brahma)
Hm, hm (Gurur Vishnu)
Hm, hm (Gurur Devo)
Hm, hm (Maheshwara)
My sweet lord (Gurur Sakshaat)
My sweet lord (Parabrahma)
My, my, my lord (Tasmayi Shree)
My, my, my, my lord (Guruve Namah)
My sweet lord (Hare Rama)

daily inspiration

“I get worried for young girls sometimes;
 I want them to feel
that they can be sassy and full and weird and geeky
and smart and independent,
and not so withered and shriveled.”
—Amy Poehler

With enough courage, you can do without a reputation.- Rhett Butler

*June *
1936
was published
so in honor
of one of my favorite books
75th anniversary
I'm re-reading the epic novel
and gathering some serious style inspiration from the film

Love Poem Love: Keats

(via)

Bright Star

Bright star, would I were steadfast as thou art —
Not in lone splendour hung aloft the night
And watching, with eternal lids apart,
Like Nature's patient, sleepless Eremite,
The moving waters at their priestlike task
Of pure ablution round earth's human shores,
Or gazing on the new soft-fallen mask
Of snow upon the mountains and the moors —
No — yet still stedfast, still unchangeable,
Pillow'd upon my fair love's ripening breast,
To feel for ever its soft swell and fall,
Awake for ever in a sweet unrest,
Still, still to hear her tender-taken breath,
And so live ever — or else swoon to death.

John Keats

"I have always imagined that Paradise will be a kind of library." - Jorge Luis Borges, "Poema de los Dones"

*I want to go to there*

E.B. WHITE IN A LETTER TO THE CHILDREN OF TROY, MICHIGAN

a library is many things. it’s a place to go, to get in out of the rain. it’s a place to go if you want to sit and think.
but particularly it is a place where books live, and where you can get in touch with other people, and other thoughts, through books… books are good company, in sad times and happy times, for books are people — people who have managed to stay alive by hiding between the covers of a book
