I don't always decorate the outside of my house for Christmas
(it's 80 degrees in December here in Charleston)
But when I do
I want to decorate with Calvin and Hobbs

I had a lucky stuffed bunny

I plan on bringing him home from Charlotte during the Holidays
He's going to live high up on a shelf
because the puppies would think he is just delicious

(via)

I've just finished my 7th book
*I'm slowing down*
but not for long
because my reading slump is over!

I chose a book because it had been a #1 best seller
~Can't really go too wrong with that~

The Book Thief

by
Marcus Zusak
~was wonderful~
touching
sad
and lovely
what more could you want from an afternoon with a paperback

reading block....book slump....story strikeout

Credit: exit-sign
(via)

I am on a mission to read 100 books in a year
*hopefully more*
(we'll see)
but I am striking out on my book choices
my most recent reads weren't exactly bad....
(Mindy Kaling wrote the last good book I've read)
but the stories haven't captured me

you know the feeling when you finish a great book
and you ache just a little...
I really want to feel that way about a book right about now

any suggestions?

My hair is going Grey Gardens

By common consent gray hairs are a crown of glory;
the only object of respect
that can never excite envy.

Pinned Image

I plucked a grey hair out of my eyebrow today
it wasn't just kinda grey
or any form lighter than my natural color
it was super grey
**what the what**

Looks like I'm going to have to invest in some black gloves
red lipstick
and big ole pearls
because this is the look I'm going to go for

Parks & Rec + Breaking Bad = Parks and Meth

The boyfriend & I really enjoy watching
together
we have a pact
*not to watch it without one another*
we only watch one episode at a time on netflix
to prolong the guilty pleasure

So when I came across a tumblr
blending
with stills from Breaking Bad
I just had to share
It is awesomely hilarous

Love poem love: Judith Viorst

some advice from a mother to her married son | judith viorst

the answer to do you love me isn’t, “i married you, didn’t i?”
or, “can’t we discuss this after the ballgame is through?”
it isn’t, “well that all depends on what you mean by ‘love’.”
or even, “come to bed and i’ll prove that i do.”
the answer isn’t, “how can i talk about love when
the bacon is burned and the house is an absolute mess and
the children are screaming their heads off and
i’m going to miss my bus?”
the answer is yes.
the answer is yes.
the answer is yes.

2011 Halloween Costume :Dia De Los Muertos edition

(via photobooth)

**I love Halloween**
my costume scared the trick or treaters though
(and the puppies for a minute or two)
who knew that a little face paint
and a flower head band
could make such a serious scary statement

Halloween with Hitchcock

Pinned Image
(via)

It's gotten chilly down here in the lowcountry
The puppies and I are bundled up
and watching Hitchcock movies on Netflix

When I was a teenager my family always had a girls week
in Myrtle Beach
**Lakewood Campgrounds is the best**
It ended up being a rainy cold week in South Carolina
We ended up spending our evenings
all the cousins piled on top of each other in the living room
watching Hitchcock movies
getting the wits scared out of us

I was pleasantly surprised to find that Netflix has a great selection
of Hitchcock films on their streaming service
so here we are

**I'm saving Rear Window for last**

100 books in a year: week 1

Pinned Image
(via)

In this first week of reading I read three books
*97 to go*

1. The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo
2. The Girl Who Played With Fire
3. The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets Nest

the Lisbeth Salander series by Stieg Larsson

I really enjoyed these books
but be warned they contain serious subjects and violence
they don't really make you want to hop on the next flight to Sweden

Pinned Image
(via)

I love to read
but sometimes I will go a long time without picking up a book
and then I'll have times where I just read voraciously

I am setting a goal today
(nothing special about october 21st)
and am going to read
*atleast*
100 books
in the next 365 days

Paris via pastry

Pinned Image
(via)

I love the look of french pastries
they are very architectural
I had the pleasure of trying a macaroon
from the macaroon boutique on Jean St.
and a chocolate almond croissant that I ate before I even got home
*I love when pastries are too pretty to eat*
I let them sit on the counter
~tempting~
*taunting*
and then Oh so Tasty!

That Big Book Sale
starts tomorrow!

Bring your bags or boxes
and prepare to be overwhelmed by the incredible
amount of books in a space that isn't a library
or a bookstore

*You never know what your going to find*

this is by far the best used book sale I have ever been to
and I look forward to it every year
it always comes along with pumpkin spiced goodies
and cooler weather
That Big Book Sale
is when fall really starts for me
