Momma and Daddy

Our House is about to be invaded by my Parents
usually this means free dinner and touristy charleston roaming
But this visit is solely about the "New House"
so I have been Cleaning, Cleaning , Cleaning

i wonder

The economy is on every ones lips now-a-days, which is understandable considering the tremendous job losses we've seen and the downturn of the stock market. It makes me wonder if we are going to take ideas from the past and make use of what we have to get by.

I have always preferred home made gifts (giving and receiving) and cooking at home is something that I truly love *thanks to that terribly over priced education. So the Boyfriend and I have a leg up on being prepared to stay in a bit more and save money.

I have been tossing around some ideas about the upcoming spring and how to really spread my budget. My income varies weekly (tipping is NOT a city in china) so for us there is no predicting the future. I dream of veggie gardens and sewing a good bit more. I should ask my Grandma about what she and my Granny did during the Great Depression.

New Year...New House...New Mortgage

Some might think that it's strange that I have been waiting excitedly for my first mortgage payment notice.(the boyfriend thinks that I am down right crazy) I have been nervous about it not coming, but he assured me that no matter what it will make its way to my mailbox.

Our first couple of weeks in our new house have been a lot of fun. Most of the stress from moving (3 miles) has almost dissipated. Now we get to play the game " I didn't know we needed one of those"- our expenses for the first couple of weeks have been a surprise.
Thank goodness for house warming parties

let the lists continue-

Organization escapes me.
Procrastination and excuses do not.
Poor boyfriend.

I have good intentions though, I really, really want to be organized.
Lists are good - they make me feel like I am getting started from my seat on the couch.
Here it goes, as Martha cooks on the television.

1. Recipes (cut from magazines and put in my book)
2. Pantry
3. Food Budget and meal plans.
4. Cleaning lists
5. Laundry room (yes i have a laundry room)
6. The studio
7. my own budget
8. the calendar (events, birthdays, concerts, laundry day)

to do this week:
1. change of address with bank and magazines
2. shopping for boyfriends birthday
3. the pantry
4. pay bills and banking
